Dance Moms Season 5, Episode 29 Recap: Kendall Vertes And Maddie Ziegler Fight For Nationals Spot
Tuesday’s episode of Dance Moms began with Abby Lee Dance Company (ALDC) being shown to have a new studio in LA. It can be recalled that the moms have been complaining about six weeks of having no studio. So everyone goes inside to take a look—it still requires a lot of work. Happy to have their studio, Melissa dancesd around and says Abby is a lot happier now.
Abby announces that the grand opening party is going to be in two weeks, simultaneous with the nationals. She then starts the pyramid and gets frustrated for not being prepared for the nationals, and that there is no improvement in their performance since last year.
Kendall’s reward for beating Jojo last week is a solo against Mackenzie and Maddie, which will determine who shall get the solo during Nationals. They are told that the one who will place higher when it comes to their routine will be the one to take the solo for the annual event.
As if to encourage Kendall, Abby told her that Maddis has already been beaten before and so it is not impossible to beat her again. But the question is: will it bee possible for Kendall? During practice, Maddie performs a solo “The Woods,” and Kendall has a new routine with scarf as a prop. Abby cautions Kendall that if she drops her scarf, it will be a win for Maddie.
The big day came and the two girls complete their routines. But for Kendall, she is unable to catch her scarf as she dances to “Blowing Red.” She places second. Maddie gets the first place. ALDC’s “Always A Bridesmaid” gets first place. Mackenzie places first for her “Bats—t Crazy” solo.
