Dallas Mavericks vs New Orleans Pelicans: NBA Preseason Games Live Stream, TV Schedule, Preview

The Dallas Mavericks and New Orleans Pelicans will look to shake up rust when they open their 2016 NBA Preseason campaign on Saturday night. The Mavs-Pelicans match will be the second preseason game this year after the opener between the Golden State Warriors and Toronto Raptors.

Dallas Mavericks To Test New-Look Roster

The Mavericks finished sixth in the Western Conference last season with their 42-40 record. They are expected to improve this season after making key moves this summer.

The Mavericks kept key players like Dirk Nowitzki, Deron Williams, Wesley Matthews and J.J. Barea. They benefited a lot from Kevin Durant’s decision to sign with the Warriors. Following the blockbuster signing, the Mavericks acquired Andrew Bogut in a trade with Golden State and also signed former Warriors forward Harrison Barnes.

Bogut is expected to start for the Warriors alongside Nowitzki, while Barnes will play a bigger role than what he was used to when he was still with the Warriors. If they both stay healthy, Bogut and Barnes are expected to help the Mavericks become top-four team in the Western Conference this season.

Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle told the team’s official website that he liked what he saw during the first four days of training camp. The veteran head coach is hoping that their good performance in practice will help them build confidence heading into the 2016-17 regular season.

“We hope to play well, play efficiently, and we’re certainly trying to win the game,” Carlisle said. “There’s some encouraging signs in the first four days of training camp, so we’ll fine out more.”

New Orleans Pelicans Eyeing Playoff Stint

Meanwhile, the Pelicans will look to make or at least become a playoff contender this season. They finished 12th in Western Conference last season with a measly 30-52 record.

All eyes will be on Anthony Davis, who is very eager to help the Pelicans become a perennial winning squad. They failed to make game-changing moves last summer, but they added promising rookies Buddy Hield and Cheick Diallo.

The Dallas Mavericks vs New Orleans Pelicans match will start at 8 p.m. ET at CenturyLink Center. Fans catch watch the action through live stream via NBA League Pass.
