What's This?

Dallas Cowboys rookie Ezekiel Elliott has been accused of domestic violence. Elliott’s girlfriend Tiffany Thompson shared images of bruises and lacerations on Instagram on Thursday, suggesting she has been subject to domestic violence for a long time.

The BuzzFeed News reported that due to the conflicting claims, the prosecutor’s office will now look into the matter. No arrest warrant has been issued against Ezekiel Elliott as of yet.

ESPN reported that Thompson, who claimed to be Elliott’s former live-in girlfriend, said that she was assaulted by the former Ohio State star multiple times over the past week. According to her, they were in a parked car when she was assaulted. She also told police that her right wrist was hurt and there was a red mark. However, she declined medical treatment, according to police reports.

However, four witnesses including one who was inside the car at the time of the alleged incident said they did not observe any form of assault.

Thompson alleged that Ezekiel Elliott had hit her “several times” and caused bruises on her arms over a period of five days, from Saturday to Wednesday. Elliott has denied the allegations saying he never touched Thompson in a harmful manner. According to Elliott, Thompson’s bruises were from a bar fight.

Though Thompson said she lived in with the running back for three months, Elliott denied the claim. However, he accepted paying for Thompson’s rent and had co-signing on her vehicle.

Brian McCarty, the NFL spokesperson, said that the accusations brought against the former Ohio State star, who turned 21 this Friday, will be reviewed under the league’s personal conduct policy.

Stacey Elliot, father of the NFL star, said that the allegations brought against his son are false. The statement was posted by the Dallas Cowboys, the 10 TV reported.

“The reported allegations and Internet postings regarding our son are completely false. Ezekiel has done nothing wrong,” he said in the statement. “The police have investigated this matter and eyewitnesses have verified the lack of any wrongdoing. The actual evidence in this matter clearly indicates what the real motivation was behind the police being called. We are confident that when the truth comes to light it will reveal the falsity of these claims. Ezekiel has been fully cooperative with the police and will continue to do so—along with cooperating with the NFL—moving forward.”
