Colin Farrell To Star In Harry Porter Prequel Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them
Colin Farrell is all set to join the magical world of Harry Porter in prequel “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.” The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed the news of the 39-year-old star joining the cast of the movie that is going to be released on Nov 18, 2016.
The ever-growing cast of “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” now has Collin Farrell, Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Ezra Miller, Alison Sudol and Dan Fogler.
Farrell is set to play Graves in the movie. Graves is the wizard who encounters Scamander in New York City. Colin is fresh from his popular show “True Detective,” and the Irish actor is ready a cast his spell in the Harry Porter prequel.
Farrell was also a part of Yargos Lanthimos’ “The Lobster.” The movie got critical acclaim in Cannes in May. It was an interesting story of people finding a mate within 45 days or getting turned into animals.
Katherine Waterston will be playing the female lead Tina.
Sudol will be portraying the character of Tina’s sister while Ezra Miller will be the magical Kredan. Redmayne is going to play the hero in the movie.
The Plot of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them
The story of the Harry Porter spin-off takes one back 70 years before Harry reads Newt’s book in school. The story revolves around a lot of magical characters. Newt’s adventure in the secret community of witches and wizards are depicted in the movie. He attempts to document magical creatures throughout.
The movie is inspired by a Hogwarts textbook title of the same name, written by the fictional Scamander. According to Rowling, the story is “neither a prequel nor a sequel to the Harry Potter series, but an extension of the wizarding world.”
The fictional Harry Porter prequel will be directed by David Yates. The original eight “Harry Potter” films grossed $7.7 billion worldwide at the box office and this time, it is expected to score high.
As far as production of the movie goes, David Heyman will be back as producer. He will be accompanied by Rowling, Lionel Wigram and Steve Kloves.
