The Cleveland Cavaliers will kick of their NBA Preseason campaign on Wednesday night. The defending champions will go up against Eastern Conference rivals Orlando Magic at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio.

Cleveland Cavaliers Begin Title Defense

The Cavaliers won their first NBA championship in franchise history last season. Most fans are eager to see how hungry they will be in their title defense this year, where they will be challenged by the star-studded Golden State Warriors, who signed Kevin Durant last summer.

Four-time NBA Most Valuable Player LeBron James will lead the team anew along with fellow superstars Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love. But according to the Akron Beacon Journal, Irving will sit out to rest, giving DeAndre Liggins a chance to prove he can handle point guard duties for the Cavaliers.

Fans will also get a glimpse at new acquisitions rookie Kay Felder, Toney Douglas, Mike Dunleavy and Chris Andersen on Wednesday. The Cavaliers will be without projected starting shooting guard J.R. Smith, who has yet to sign a new deal with Cleveland with less than a month before the season begins.

Orlando Magic Ready To Surprise The Cleveland Cavaliers

On the other hand, the Orlando Magic will get a good gauge of how prepared they are for the upcoming season. The Magic made key moves in the offseason, including signing former Indiana Pacers coach Frank Vogel as their head coach this season.

The Magic will also parade new signings Bismack Biyombo, who played a big role for the Toronto Raptors in the 2016 NBA Playoffs. Serge Ibaka, who was acquired in a trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder in the offseason, is unlikely to play due to knee issues.
