In 2012, Young opened for Lambert during her On Fire Tour.

According to E! Online, a source said that there were trust issues between the couple, which caused the marriage to downslide.

“Trust was an issue for both of them,” the source said. “It went along with having to spend a lot of time apart. Rumors of infidelity put stress on them. Despite denials, even just rumors of cheating are still hard to hear.”

The couple’s busy schedules also attributed to the failing marriage.

In their official joint statement, Lambert and Shelton had said, “This is not the future we envisioned and it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately. We are real people, with real lives, with real families, friends and colleagues. Therefore, we kindly ask for privacy and compassion concerning this very personal matter.”
