Kenneth Faried is continuously being mentioned in numerous trade rumors over the past several months. This time, a recent trade scenario linked the do-it-all forward to the Chicago Bulls.
According to the FanSided, the Nuggets could eventually move Faried before the annual trade deadline in February. This will be more possible if the Nuggets fail to keep in step with playoff contenders by then.
The Bulls are among the possible destinations for Faried because they have the necessary pieces to convince the Nuggets to a deal. The Nuggets could give up Faried in exchange for Taj Gibson and Nikola Mirotic.
Chicago will likely consider the deal, as Faried could provide the energy inside the paint. It is something that they will badly miss after former Bulls center Joakim Noah left for the New York Knicks this offseason.
Faried averaged 12.5 points and 8.7 rebounds per game last season. The 26-year-old forward could eventually start for Chicago if the Bulls and the Nuggets agree to a deal.
On the other hand, trading Faried will be a costly move for the Nuggets. However, getting Gibson and Mirotic in return will lessen the impact of Faried’s departure.
Gibson has proven time and time again that he can contribute whether as a starter or one of the first players off the bench. The 31-year-old forward averaged 8.6 points and 6.9 rebounds in 26.5 minutes per game. In 55 starts last season, Gibson posted 9.2 points and 7.3 rebounds on top of 1.5 assists and 1.1 blocks per game.
Mirotic will also be a good acquisition for the Nuggets. The 25-year-old had a stellar sophomore season in Chicago, as he posted 11.8 points and 5.5 rebounds in 66 games last season.
The Yugoslavia native has nothing to go but up, and a move to the Nuggets could work wonders for his career. The incoming third-year forward will provide additional scoring options and outside sniping for the young Nuggets squad.
