It’s one of the grandest annual shows that everyone has been waiting for. The Chicago Air and Water Show 2016 is finally here and it’s more got heart-stopping action than you’ve ever seen before.
The Chicago Air and Water Show is the largest free show of its kind. 2016 marks its 57th year and now more than ever, it is more determined to deliver unforgettable daredevil thrills from both the water and skyline as some of the U.S. military and civilian pilots show off their skills here.
In this year‘s program, the audience can look forward to some spectacular air performances headlined by the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, U.S. Army Parachute Team Golden Knights and U.S. Navy Parachute Team Leap Frogs. Meanwhile, there will also be performances from featuring the F-35 Heritage flight, U.S. Air Force F-16 Fighting Falcon, U.S. Navy F-18, C-130 Hercules, P-51 Mustang, U.S. Coast Guard HC-144A Ocean Sentry and the U.S. Coast Guard MH-Dolphin Helicopter.
At the same time, civilian teams participating in the festivities include the AeroShell Aerobatic Team, Aerostars, Bill Stein Airshows, The Firebirds Delta Team, Matt Chapman Airshows, Warbird Heritage Museum Foundation, Susan Dacy, Chicago Fire Department Air/Sea Rescue as well as Sean D. Tucker & Team Oracle.
Meanwhile, opening the show will be retired Chicago Bears cornerback Charles “Peanut” Tillman who will be tandem jumping with the U.S. Army Golden Knights to commemorate the USO’s 75th Anniversary. He will be touching down in front of the Boat House at North Avenue Beach at 10 AM on Saturday.
The Chicago Air and Water Show 2016 will take place at the Lakefront of North Avenue Beach in Chicago from August 20 to 21. Best spots to catch all the action is at the Show Center in North Avenue Beach, The Lakefront from Oak Street Beach to Fullerton and the Ohio Street Beach. The programs will run from 10 AM to 3 PM on both days.
