Celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain and his much younger wife MMA fighter Ottavia Busia have separated. The 60-year-old chef and his MMA fighter wife, who is only 38 years old, have divorced because of purely professional reasons.Advertisement
“Because of professional decisions we both have made, my husband and I have been for years in an unconventional relationship. Nothing has changed,” said Ottavia Busia who is from Lombardy, Italy.
The MMA fighter added that she and Bourdain love each other and respect the decision to divorce. However, she clarified that they are still very much a family. The couple share a daughter Ariane, 9.
The celeb chef Anthony Bourdain confirmed about the divorce to Page Six. “They’ve been separated for a while,” but “there was no one else involved,” a source close to the chef said.
The couple first met at a cigar bar, thanks to Bourdain’s friend and chef Eric Ripert, People reports. The celebrity chef was reportedly enraptured by the way Busia ate a six-pound lobster on a date.
After a few days, the couple had matching chef’s knife tattoos. Bourdain was then married to his first wife whom he divorced in 2007 and married Busia within two weeks.
