If everything goes according to script, Cleveland Cavaliers’ LeBron James and Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry will square off again in June in a rematch from last year’s NBA Finals.

Prior to the season, James and the Cavaliers were tipped as odds-on favorites until Curry and the defending champions went on a 24-0 run to shut all the doubters.

After Curry’s mind-boggling performance on Saturday night, however, James seems to have conceded early defeat to the unstoppable Warriors.  Curry, the reigning MVP, had a game for the ages against Oklahoma City Thunder, hitting a record-tying 12 threes, including a game-winning 32-foot shot in OT – a shot which is already in discussion for the greatest game-winner ever.

LeBron James: ‘He’s ridiculous man’

Soon after Curry’s incredible performance, tweets rolled in from across the NBA. But none were as significant as LeBron’s reaction. “@StephenCurry30 needs to stop it man!! He’s ridiculous man! Never before seen someone like him in the history of ball!”

LeBron is right. We have never seen anyone like Stephen Curry in the history of basketball. You could argue that LeBron, like the rest of the NBA world, is in awe of Curry and are showering him in praises. But should LeBron be out-right praising a guy who stands in his pursuit of bringing a maiden championship to Cleveland Cavaliers?

LeBron returned to Cleveland for the solitary purpose of bringing the city its first professional sports championship in over 50 years. Curry and the Warriors stand in their way. If the Finals were to start today, Warriors will begin as heavy favorites.

Besides tying the single-game record with 12 threes Saturday, Curry also broke his own record for most threes made in a season. With 24 games remaining, Curry already has 288 made three-pointers and threatens to hit another 100 or so!

Led by LeBron James, here are some of the incredible reactions from the NBA world:
