Knicks superstar Carmelo Anthony had a poor shooting night, going 6/18 from the field for his 17 points. Rookie Kristaps Porzingis (13 points, 4 rebounds) continued to impress with his vertical and shooting ability. Langston Galloway (12 points) was the only other Knick in double-digits.
Kevin Love added 11 points and 12 rebounds for the Cavaliers.
The teams last met on February 22 when Cavaliers won 103-83.
While James returned home first the first time since becoming the youngest player to reach 25,000 points, the Knicks looked to upset the overwhelming favorites in the Eastern Conference.
Porzingis was deemed fit to play despite the neck strain he suffered against San Antonio Spurs.
JR Smith, a former Knick, was ruled out with a bruised knee. The Cavs were missing guards Kyrie Irving and Iman Shumpert, still recurring from injuries. Richard Jefferson started in the backcourt alongside veteran Mo Williams.
