As people still cannot accept the cancellation of hit crime-dramedy series “Castle” after eight seasons, fans have started to look for people and reasons to blame.
Some are now claiming it was actually her feud with Nathan Fillion that has prompted ABC’s decision. Katic plays Kate Beckett, a homicide detective at NYPD, while Fillion is Richard Castle, a mystery novelist.
While the defunct show ended on a happy note, the relationship of the lead characters did not necessarily reflect it.
According to Us Weekly, the two artists, who played husband and wife, were allegedly not in good terms when behind the camera of the now cancelled “Castle” TV series.
“Stana would go in her dressing room and cry,” one source reportedly narrated. “Nathan has been nasty to Stana for a long time.”
Meanwhile, another insider dished that “It got so out of hand they made Stana and Nathan go to couples counselling together,” something which the actress’ rep denied, saying that she never had issues with her leading man.
“Castle” Season Finale
Back in April, Katic announced that she was leaving the show for unknown reasons. She even posted a note on Twitter thanking the “Castle” fans, People reported.
“To the fans: thank you for your support,” the 38-year-old Canadian actress tweeted. “I love you.”
Upon learning about his leading lady’s exit, the 45-year-old then sent some good words through Twitter.
“Castle has been one of the greatest joys of my creative life, and I hope the show continues on for years to come,” he wrote. “Stana has been my partner all this time, and I thank her for creating the character of Beckett who will live on for all of us as one of the greatest police officers on television.”
“I wish her well, and have no doubt she will succeed in everything she pursues,” he continued. “She will be missed.”
The final episode of “Castle” aired on ABC on May 16.
