This week, the question in every Marvel fan’s mind seems to revolve around the Captain Marvel movie. The studio hasn’t been secretive about its plans for the movie. Rumors are suggesting that the lead actress has already been confirmed. For now, let’s put together everything we know about Captain Marvel.

A recent article on Variety is highly suggesting that Brie Larson is in talks with Marvel for the role. The standalone female superhero is popular in Marvel Comics. Although we do not yet have official confirmation from Marvel, Variety’s sources are standing firm that both Larson and the studio are on the same line of agreement for Captain Marvel.

While it’s still too early to predict the plot, screenplay writers Meg LeFauve (Inside Out) and Nicole Perlman (Guardians of the Galaxy) are possible contenders.

The story sets off when air force pilot Carol Danvers gets into an accident where her DNA fuses with an alien specie, granting her super strength. Perhaps the movie would concentrate on introducing the character in Marvel’s lineup, like Deadpool.

The studio will definitely go through a hard time selecting the right person for the job amongst all successful women directors. The Guardian suggests rumors that Angelina Jolie may become director; however, a recent report from The Hollywood Reporter says that Niki Caro and Jennifer Kent are competing to sit on the director’s chair.

We can expect an official comment from Marvel soon. For now, let the internet be the judge. Here’s a fan-made poster of Brie Larson in Captain Marvel costume.
