We saw hints of a romantic engagement between Bruce Banner and Black Widow in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Following this, directors of Captain America were asked whether fans would see romantic possibilities in the newest installment, Captain America: Civil War.
The story has been exclusively covered by ComicBook.com.
Anthony Russo, when asked whether Civil War would see Captain America being romantically involved, said, “You mean, aside from Cap Bucky?” His brother Joe said, “That falls under the surprise in the story as well, but we can only keep Cap romantically uninvolved for so long. At some point, something has to happen with that character, so we are very aware of his lack of romantic life. We want to keep dimensionalizing his character so maybe something interesting will happen.”
While one can only speculate whether Captain America will lose his virginity in Civil War, Hayley Atwell said he and Agent Peggy Carter might already have consummated their relationship in Captain America: The First Avenger. Responding to a question posed by a fan whether the Cap and Carter got physical during their duty tour in World War II, Atwell said, “I think so. I think they were soul mates…Yeah, I think they must have done it.”
According to Marvel.com, Captain America: Civil War arrives in theaters on May 6 and will feature Chris Evans as Captain America, Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Sebastian Stan as Winter Soldier, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton, and Paul Rudd as Scott Lang.
