‘Captain America: Civil War’ International Opening Catching Up With Marvel’s ‘Ultron’ Rapidly

With its star- studded cast and interesting story plot revolving around the once-comrade superheroes battling each other, it is now rumored that the film would be a box-office hit that can surpass the other prequels and even Marvel’s Ultron! It is already a hit when it comes to its international performance.
According to Deadline, Marvel’s “Captain America: Civil War” has now reached $38.7 Million in the box- office a to date. In Latin America, the film has surpassed “Avengers: Age of Ultron” on its debut. It is also considered now Marvel’s biggest hit film with a total of $946M and is also the highest- grossing superhero film ever.
In Korea, the film has totaled at $7.7 Million up to date and has since been leading the theaters. While in France, it has totaled to $3.7M in just two days. In Australia, the film opened with $2.3 Million, 3% ahead of Ultron.
In a report by Variety, pre-release tracking estimates implied that “Civil War” could earn roughly $200 million after its first five days in theaters overseas.
An opening of that size could it make it at par with “Avengers: Age of Ultron” ($212 million) and “Iron Man 3” ($160 million). It certainly trumped 2014’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” which opened to $78 million in international theaters.
