Canon 5D Mark IV Rumors: Certain Specs Disappointing?
While consumers continue to wait for the official release date of Canon 5D Mark IV, some rumors have suggested that they could be disappointing. What could be these specs? Does it lack the features which some fans have been waiting to hear about?Advertisement
It can be noted that the predecessor of the Japanese multinational company’s camera brand was a hit when it arrived. Will the upcoming upgraded version of Canon 5D Mark III reap the same success?
Based on the leaked details of Canon 5D Mark IV, No Film School noted that it might bring disappointment to consumers, particularly the filmmakers. Amid the reported inclusion of the 4K video capability of the new device, the site said that it might not be enough to satisfy the needs of those in the film industry.
“The biggest news for filmmakers is that the Mark IV finally includes 4k recording (what a great branding tie-in, Mark IV: 4k!), though in actual delivery it looks like serious users will be disappointed by its video offering,” the report pointed out.
Despite having a video capacity of 4K, the site hinted that is still no enough since its sensor is only 30MP. Considering this, the Canon 5D Mark IV “has to either use a crop (the middle 4000 pixels), or pixel-bin to downscale the images into 4K resolution in realtime.”
In the meantime, Canon Rumors shared that the highly-anticipated device will already have Dual Pixel RAW. This means that it can record a regular RAW file and Dual Pixel RAW file at the same time.
By doing so, users can edit their photos using the three new post-processing techniques from Canon’s Digital Photo Professional program. These techniques are the Image Micro Adjustment, Bokeh Shift and Ghosting Reduction.
