Samsung’s virtual reality headset, which was developed in association with Oculus, is now available. People who have been waiting to put on this gadget on their eyes and experience it themselves can now pre-order Samsung Gear VR from Best Buy.

Yes, the company has started accepting pre-orders for this headset and is selling it for $99.99. As per Best Buy, “Samsung Gear VR” will be released on November 20. One thing to keep in mind is that this virtual reality headset is not compatible with all Samsung phones. Here is the list of smartphones that support Gear VR:

Galaxy Note 5

Galaxy S6 edge+

Though Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge+ support this headset, you will need to get the software updated from your respective carrier. You will also get a 16GB microSD card with your gadget which will come pre-loaded with 360-degree videos and 3D movie trailers. As mentioned on Best Buy, Samsung Gear VR will come with 1-year parts and 1-year labor warranty.

This is another product that we can say Samsung is testing. It’s a device that takes the smartphone experience to another level. If this works, other brands are going to jump into this bandwagon, but will it work? Will people buy a device that blocks their vision and makes them concentrate only on gaming or movies? Is this even practical in today’s world? You can not want to wear this headset while traveling or working. And if you are to enjoy this headset at home, why not play games on Xbox or watch movies on a bigger screen? Pass or fail, only customers can give the verdict and decide the future of Samsung Gear VR.
