Butterball Officially Opens Turkey Hotline For 2015

In fact, according to Butterball Turkey Talk-Line co-director Sue Smith, Butterball will be around to debunk myths about today’s Turkey cooking methods, among other things.
In fact, Smith also says, “This year, we’re taking the time to revisit and celebrate the best holiday memories.” This means Butterball will be sharing throwback photos, memorable phone calls from over the years as well as a limited edition throwback packaging that fresh turkeys, which features an iconic Norman Rockwell Thanksgiving image. This year, Butterball Turkey Talk-Line experts will also share some personal recipe favorites while also encouraging customers to share their own favorite throwback Thanksgiving recipes, memories and photos.
Nonetheless, before you even call the Turkey Talk-Line this year, Butterball experts have already compiled a short list of guidelines to make sure that you serve moist, flavorful turkey this Thanksgiving. This is known as the four T’s.
First is the thawing. Butterball recommends that you allow at least one day of thawing in the refrigerator for ever four pounds of turkey. The second T refers to temperature, Butterball says that when cooking the turkey, it should reach 180° F in the thigh, 170° F in the breast and 165° F in the center of the stuffing. Next comes Butterball’s two-hour rule, which means that you should store leftovers in separate containers within two hours after cooking. And lastly, Butterball says you have three days to eat or freeze leftover turkey.
