What's This?

The report of two Australian surfers missing in Mexico has circulated a few days ago. This time, the families are tensed because a burnt van with two bodies was found.

A tragic event had occurred for sure, but it is still not confirmed if the bodies are of Dean Lucas and Adam Coleman. However, Andrea Gómez, Coleman’s girlfriend, said that reports received till date indicate that the van belonged to them. The news was spread around social media by Coleman’s girlfriend. The duo had to reach Guadalajara to meet Gomez, nine days ago. They never arrived.

Gomez placed an alert on social media for the missing men. She was then contacted by someone who saw the men in a 24-hour convenience store. They were in Los Mochis, Sinaloa, looking for the map.

The Australian surfers started from Edmonton. The duo was both 33 years old. They had another friend whom they dropped off at Las Vegas. They continued their journey to Mexico and did odd jobs to fund for their trip.

Andrea Gómez said she was aware of the risks of going to Mexico, but she never thought this would happen. “I had talked to them about the insecurity [in Mexico] but I never told them about the terrible things that could happen. For that I feel a bit responsible.”

Gómez will be travelling to Sinaloan capital of Culiacan on Monday to identify the bodies. She will be accompanied by Josie Cox, Lucas’s partner. They will be carrying dental records of Lucas and “pieces of dreadlocks” Coleman once gave.

The two Australian surfers missing from Mexico were seen by many people. Andrea Gómez said that she is not sure what to believe anymore. Authorities in Sinaloa has also stayed quiet about the case.
