What's This?

Forget sports cars. It’s all about hyper or super sports cars now. And when it comes to these super cars, Bugatti seems to have done its best, creating one that is now being hailed as the fastest in the world.

The new Bugatti Chiron is so incredible that it needs its own world premiere. Well, Bugatti made that happen yesterday at the Geneva International Motor Show. The luxury car maker says the Chiron is not just the fastest, it is also the most exclusive, luxurious and powerful super sports car in the world.

For Bugatti, it’s all about taking things to the next level and so to modernize their latest creation, it developed a new high-performance machine that is “significantly better in every respect.” For starters, the power the Chiron carries is unheard of in hyper cars until now.

The Chiron boldly utilizes a power output of 1,500 HP and a very high torque value of 1,600 Nm between 2,000 and 6,000 rpm. Bugatti is confident that this car will become the “next world speed record holder” and even far exceed the maximum speed that the company currently holds. The Chiron is powered by the W16 engine, which Bugatti considers to be an engineering feat that allowed the car to have a 25 percent in performance from its predecessor.

Wolfgang Dürheimer, President of Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S., says the Chiron is all about making “the best better.” ” It is part of human nature to cross boundaries and set new records – to run 100 m faster than ever before, to fly even further into space and to enter new realms,” he explained. For road use, however, Bugatti has decided to limit the Chiron’s maximum speed to 420 km/h.

The Chiron is also about ultra exclusivity as only 500 units of this super sports will be made at Bugatti’s headquarters in Molsheim. If you want one, the basic price is €2.4 million net. The company says 1/3 of its Chiron production has already been ordered in advance and the first vehicle will be delivered to a customer in Autumn.
