Being blamed for being a bad father was too much for Brad Pitt to take and he decided to take his own life by shooting himself in the head at a shooting range.
This has got to be hard on Angelina Jolie and the couple’s six children! Did Jolie’s soon to be ex-husband really commit suicide? At least that is what a recent pop-up news on Facebook wants to have us believe.
While the source of the news story seems to have been originated from “Fox News”, a closer look tells us that something is really fishy. For starters, clicking on the news directs one to a permission slip, which aims to infiltrate one’s FB account information.
Snopes has called out the bluff of the hoax spreading news site, attributing it to spreading a number of celebrity death hoaxes in the past such as Nicolas Cage, Jaden Smith, John Cena, Sylvester Stallone, Jim Carrey, Vin Diesel and even Angelina Jolie!
The hoax claims that Brad Pitt shot himself in the head at a shooting range because he and Jolie “were going through a divorce and he had a history of depression”. While the reason given might be believable enough, the hoax itself is not.
Hence, Facebook users are advised not to click on the news story as it is a malicious app trying to misuse people’s personal information.
Hoaxes such as this serve as clickbait to attract traffic by creating panic among the common masses. Nonetheless, you can be rest assured that while Brad Pitt might be going through a trying time, he is definitely alive and healthy at the moment.
When TMZ revealed the news that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were getting a divorce, things spun eerily out of control, with multiple hoaxes popping up on the internet, just to confuse people.
While some claimed that Jennifer Aniston and gone on the “Today Show” and expressed her anger at the “Fury” star, others claimed that Pitt had secretly written the book, “A Secret Of Love”.
The news story that Brad Pitt is dead is just one of those many hoaxes and nothing more.
