Bourne 5 gets a new title, as was revealed during the Superbowl 50 movie trailer. Coming back to reprise their roles, director Paul Greengrass and actor Matt Damon fuse once again for the upcoming film “Jason Bourne.”
It has been almost ten years since Matt Damon starred as Jason Bourne, last seen during 2007’s “Bourne Ultimatum.” After the movie, when director Paul Greengrass and Damon decided to pursue other projects, they have, yet again, decided to take on Bourne 5, reports Cinema Blend.
During last night’s Superbowl 50 event, the latest trailer for Bourne 5 reveals that the next installment of the franchise would be entitled “Jason Bourne.” Furthermore, the trailer reveals the jam-packed action scenes the movie will showcase such as upbeat car chases. It also shows that Jason Bourne might be remembering something from his past even though he was diagnosed with amnesia during the previous movies.
In other news, Vanity Fair reports that Tommy Lee Jones will be joining the cast as one of the antagonists. Other cast members include Alicia Vikander, Vincent Cassel, and Julia Styles who reprises her role as Nicky Parsons in the franchise.
During an interview, Damon revealed about what to expect out of his character in Bourne 5. He said, “You’ll find a character – like ‘The Bourne Ultimatum,’ the third act actually in the movie dovetails with the third act of ‘The Bourne Supremacy.’ So technically, when the Bourne character disappears, it’s still 2004. So when this next one comes out in ’16 it will have been 12 years – in movie years – that the character has been off the grid. So what’s happened in those intervening years gives you a story,” reports Comingsoon.net.
Catch Bourne 5, titled “Jason Bourne,” hit theaters this July 29, 2016.
