After nine long years, the fifth installment of Robert Ludlum’s novels will reach movie screens as Matt Damon comes back as Jason Bourne. Bourne 5 will feature actresses and actors that have been revving up the entertainment industry as well as retained talents of Julia Stiles. Furthermore, Damon revealed that Jason Bourne will feel darker this time around.

It has been several years since Universal Pictures portrayed a best-selling novel by the renowned author Robert Ludlum. After the release of “Bourne Ultimatum,” the 2007 movie rendition of Ludlum’s “Bourne” novels, the fifth one will finally grace screens by the middle of 2016.

As reported by Entertainment Weekly, filming for Bourne 5 started around September this year. Matt Damon, the actor who plays the titular role, had said he would end his participation in the movie franchise if director Paul Greengrass was not involved. Since the director has involved himself once again to the action film, Damon followed suit. This was confirmed when Universal Pictures through Entertainment Weekly released the first photo of Damon as Jason Bourne on set.

During an interview, Damon gave the audience a sneak peek on what to expect for Bourne 5. According to him, “There’s been the financial collapse, the great recession, all these issues of cyber warfare ad civil liberties. We find him in a dark and tortured place.” Additionally, the actor also declared that his character would still be under the quest of determining the factual circumstances that happened before he incurred amnesia.
