Billionaire Carl Icahn, ‘Duck Dynasty’ Star, Endorse Donald Trump
Billionaire and activist investor, Carl Icahn, officially endorses Donald Trump. Surprisingly, “Duck Dynasty” star Willie Robertson also gave his endorsement to Trump after praising another candidate, Bob Jindal, in the past.
Speaking with Bloomberg, Icahn said Trump is the only candidate that speaks out about the country’s problem. “I would say it’s an endorsement. I’m behind Trump,” Icahn said.
Icahn said that while he disagreed with Trump on certain points, he is sure that those can be worked out. “But the basic thing is, you need somebody that can get things going in Congress, and I think he can do it. You need somebody that understands business, and I think he understands it,” the Apple investor said.
His endorsement came after turning down Trump’s offer early this month to be his Secretary of Treasury. At the time he told USA Today that he is very much busy with work at Icahn Enterprises. Nevertheless, he believes that Trump has valid concerns about the country.
“I do think a lot of the things he says has to be done in this country — or we’re going to have real problems,” he told USA Today.
Meanwhile, Trump also got Robertson’s endorsement when the star went up the stage while the candidate is speaking at the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds in Oklahoma City. “Willie! Get over here! Look at this guy! Look at this guy! Willie do you love Trump?” Trump asked Robertson to which the star responded, “I do like me some Trump, I gotta admit.”
“Here’s the deal. We’re both successful businessmen. We both have pretty big shows on television. We both have wives that are 1,000 times better looking than us so I like Trump,” Robertson told the crowd as reported by ABC News.
