It’s still happening, folks. Ubisoft is still making the follow-up to video game masterpiece Beyond Good & Evil.
Last week, game designer Michel Ancel posted a teaser image of a cute little pig resting on the head of a man, fueling speculation that the Rayman creator is still not abandoning the project.
Now, after eight long years of waiting, Ancel has elevated his teasing skills by posting more images on Instagram.
One of the pictures shows what appears to be a character from the original game’s Mammago clan. It has a caption that says, “Endangered species – now saved – Game in pre-production – Stay tuned!”
The second image contains a half-man half-shark creature with the caption, “‘Ready for the fight’ independence #ubisoft day.”
Ubisoft France has already encouraged people to follow Ancel on Instagram, hinting that the company is indeed working on the sequel to Beyond Good & Evil.
Polygon has reached out to Ubisoft for further comments. As if wanting to increase the excitement among gamers, Ubisoft released a statement: “Michel is currently sharing his time between Ubisoft and Wild Sheep studios. The artwork he posted is from the game he’s currently working on at Ubisoft. We don’t have anything further to share at this stage.”
Ancel is currently tied with Wild Sheep Studio for upcoming video game Wild, a PS4 exclusive.
