Red Lobster’s sales are probably experiencing a big difference following their cameo on Beyonce’s newest song. The Queen B unleashed her video a day before her Super Bowl 50 performance.
Upon seeing the video, and knowing that Beyonce is Beyonce, we knew that the official Super Bowl 50 halftime act, Coldplay, would look like the Queen’s back-up in what seems like the most thrilling performance of this lifetime.
Several hours before performing alongside Chris Martin, Coldplay, and Bruno Mars, Beyonce surprisingly launched her latest single “Formation” by releasing an equally awesome video. Blue Ivy, Beyonce’s little princess, was featured in this video, making it more entertaining to watch. However, the other interesting part that stunned the audience was Beyonce’s suggested reason behind her Red Lobster visits.
“When he f**k me good, I take him to Red Lobster,” the singer goes. Though the shoutout wasn’t really a promotion for the famous go-to place, the whole world waited for the restaurant’s response on their surprise “appearance” in Beyonce’s lyrics. Apparently, it took forever for Red Lobster to drop their shots with a surprisingly lame attack on Twitter, “‘Cheddar Bey Biscuits’ has a nice ring to it, don’t you think?” says the restaurant.
Meanwhile, it was the other artist’s amusement and reactions that caught the internet community. The most celebrated of all would be John Legend’s tweet with a reflective President Barack Obama photo captioned, “When you realize your dad took your mom to Red Lobster every week.” To which Legend’s wife, Chrissy Teigen, immediately approves, Us Weekly reports. “This is a good tweet,” Teigen replied.
According to Entertainment Weekly, other celebrities have varied reactions on the song, too. Kendall Jenner simply calls out, “take his a** to Red Lobster.” Laverne Cox, on the other hand, was all-Beyonce on her post, “Luckily the smelling sauce is next to the #hotsauce in my bag swag as I am on the way to #redlobster in Bey’s chopper. #Formation.”
