Betty White, a legendary actress and loved by millions, passed away on Saturday, October 08, 2016.
Betty White was best known for starring at “The Golden Girls”, “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” and “Hot in Cleveland” and her death has led many fans to flock to the Facebook page that is dedicated to mourning the passing away of the evergreen actress.
“She will be missed but not forgotten. Please show your sympathy and condolences by commenting on and liking this page,” says the page.
Weirdly, though, no information have been released as to how Betty White died.
This might be because Betty White is not really dead and is just a victim of celebrity death hoaxes that has been pooling the internet lately.
Its long list of victims includes Michael Jordan, Jaden Smith, Sylvester Stallone, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Rowan Atkinson and even the Queen of England!
Apparently, it all started when a news story released by Empire, a satirical tabloid, resurfaced recently, whose headline reads, “Actress Betty White, 93, Dyes Peacefully In Her Los Angeles Home”, reports The Gamers Drop.
The word “dyes” was a play on the word “dies”, something that was obviously blown out of proportion by the scammers who posted the death hoax.
The original article was about how very little people know about the fact that White is not an original blonde and chooses to dye her hair in that shade herself when she is at home.
According to Media Mass, Betty White’s representatives have confirmed that “She (Betty White) joins the long list of celebrities who have been victimized by this hoax. She’s still alive and well, stop believing what you see on the Internet.”
The Facebook page dedicated to “remembering” Betty White is nothing more than an extension of the now viral death hoax and hence should not be paid attention to.
