Ben Affleck has been keeping news of DCEU’s next Batman film low profile for a while now. Due to growing hype for Justice League and Wonder Woman, it looks like fans aren’t digging deep for news on the Dark Knight.

While Geoff Johns and Ben Affleck are working extensively on the script, it’s natural for fans to expect some scoop. Since then, fans have speculated many stories: the Court of Owls, The Red Hood, Riddler, etc. But it looks like DCEU wants the storyline to be gripping and unexpected.

According to BOF, the website got rumors from a credible source suggesting that the Batman movie would begin with the Dark Knight locked inside Arkham Asylum. We still aren’t sure if he would be locked up as Bruce Wayne or Batman.

While the story sounds similar to the video game Arkham Asylum and DC Comics’s Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on a Serious Earth, we can rest assured DCEU does not plan on ripping off an entire adaptation. In a previous interview, Affleck confirmed that Batman will be filmed with an original storyline but would look into other DC Comics as well.

In other news, there are reports suggesting the possibility of Matt Damon taking on the role of an Arkham criminal in Batman. If true, we can hope to hear more news on the Dark Knight movie during San Diego Comic-con.

Warner Bros. also released its DC film schedule till 2020. It could be a sign that the studio is ready to unveil more details on its developments, although most of the films are still untitled. For now, characters Alfred, The Joker, and Commissioner Gordon are actors who will surely reprise their roles in the new Batman movie.
