‘Batman: The Telltale Series’ Gameplay: Bruce Wayne To Get Fair Share of Spotlight
While gaming studios are prioritizing graphics and realism over a good story, Batman: The Telltale Series is taking a different turn. The upcoming Batman: The telltale series was critiqued by many fans for its cartoonish approach towards visual experience. But it looks the 30 minute demo at E3 was all we needed to change our minds.Advertisement
In our earlier report we confirmed that Batman: The Telltale Series will allow gamers to play both as Dark Knight and Bruce Wayne. The 30-minute gameplay at E3 revealed both playable characters, but the appearance of Bruce Wayne in the game was portrayed as an important character in shaping the story, Kotaku reported.
Previous Batman titles showed the main character with super moves and futuristic gadgets. But we were not able to involve ourselves with the man behind the mask. The initial half of the gameplay was about Batman using his grappling hook to take down enemies in the dark and also brawling with Catwoman to stop her from getting away with a stolen hard drive.
The next half was all about Bruce Wayne, Gotham’s playboy and billionaire, inviting people to Wayne Manor, as he holds a gala for Harvey Dent. We then witnessed Bruce Wayne interact with people like Falcone, as he must chose to either greet him with a handshake or not. His actions are based on dialogues and physical movements. Different options are provided in the way you can choose to approach characters.
In our previous article, we also revealed how both playable characters’ interaction with the world will affect each other. Moreover, it looks like Bruce Wayne and Batman will have a divided amount of playtime in the game. As previous reports suggested, Wayne could be as important as Batman in the upcoming video games.
While the exact release dates are still unknown at this point, Engadget revealed the the Batman: The Telltale Series’ first episode will come out this summer.
