If critics thought Batman v Superman was a “dark” adaptation, they are definitely going to be awestruck with Batman: The Killing Joke. Since its initial trailer was revealed, fans have been aching for more details about the movie.
The R-rated animated movie is an adaptation of Batman: The Killing Joke graphic novel by Alan Moore. Earlier today, DC Entertainment released the first clip of the movie in DC All Access.
Fans can take a look at the clip starting at 3:56 where Batman confronts the Joker in Arkham Asylum. While the moment certainly seems intense, it looks like the Dark Knight is trying to call a truce with the Joker, as observed by Comic Book Movie.
The animated feature movie will be DC’s first ever R-rated adaptation, so this is definitely something special. The movie will set off as a journey through the Joker’s path to insanity. His “one bad day” leads him to become the most monstrous supervillain DC Comics has ever known. We’d suggest staying away from any spoilers containing news on Batman: The Killing Joke, as the movie will certainly terrify us to the core.
Batman: The Killing Joke will premiere at San Diego Comic-con. The movie will be released on July 23 in Digital HD, while the DVD and Blu-ray version will come on August 2. Moreover, fans can experience the movie in selected cinemas nationwide on July 25.
