Sequels have taken the front seat in the movie world. Avatar 2, Fifty Shades Darker, Transformers 5 and Wolverine 3 are reportedly beginning their respective filming this year.


“Avatar 2” will begin production on March 25 though the film is delayed until April, according to My Entertainment World. The movie will be shot in New Zealand, just like the previous one. The sci-fi drama directed by James Cameron is scripted by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver. Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, and Stephen Lang will reprise their roles. The movie is based on the life of Jake Sully who has now transformed to a Navi. There will be two more sequels of the movie.

“Fifty Shades Darker,” the sequel of “Fifty Shades of Grey,” will start filming in February. The movie based on S&M will again star Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan. Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed will be shot back-to-back starting February. Kim Basinger will play the elderly woman in Grey’s life. The February filming date was actually hinted by Johnson herself during an interview with Ellen DeGeneres. Words have it that the much awaited sequel will hit theaters on February 10, 2017, just in time for next year’s Valentine’s Day.

The untitled Wolverine sequel will begin shooting on April 25, 2016. The film will be shot in New Orleans, LA and Mexico. Hugh Jackman will reprise his role in the movie set to release on March 3, 2017. There is no update related to the plot of the movie directed by James Mangold. This is also said to be the the last movie with Jackman as Wolverine. The actor however created buzz when he seemingly teased about a possible Wolverine 4. In a tweet in early January, he posted an old movie prop with four claws. His caption reads: “4?????#Wolverine.”

“Transformers 5” will be directed by Michael Bay and this will be his last Transformers movie, the director said in an exclusive interview with Rolling Stone. The movie will start filming in May in Chicago and is expected to be released in 2017. Mark Wahlberg will reprise his role in the movie.
