Australia and Serbia will look to secure their second consecutive win in Rio 2016 Olympic basketball competition. The powerhouse countries will collide on Monday at Carioca Arena 1 in Rio de Janeiro.

Australia made the biggest in noise in Day 1 of the 2016 Olympic basketball tournament after scoring a scintillating 87-66 win over France. The Boomers were considered underdogs heading into the match but they silenced their critics with their solid performance against the European powerhouse.

San Antonio Spurs spitfire Patty Mills led the Boomers with 21 points on top of five assists and two steals. Dallas Mavericks center Andrew Bogut had a solid game with 18 points on 9-for-10 shooting to go with five boards.

On the other hand, Serbia also started their campaign on a high note. The perennial European contender, who booked a ticket to Rio via the 2016 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament, cruised to an 86-62 win over Venezuela on Saturday.

Bogdan Bogdanovic led the way for the Serbs, as he finished with 19 points on 8-for-12 shooting from the field. Miroslav Raduljica racked up 18 points on top of four rebounds and three assists, while Milan Macvan added nine points and five boards for Serbia.
