India’s tour of Australia includes five ODIs and three Twenty20 internationals. India have never won a bilateral ODI series in Australia. According to oddsmakers, MS Dhoni’s team has their best-ever chance to rewrite the history books.

Australia are the reigning ODI world champions after winning last year’s Cricket World Cup. India won the World Cup before that, on their home turf, back in 2011. This high-profile contest is being hailed as the battle of the best limited-overs teams in the world.

The teams last met during last year’s World Cup semi-final which was won by Australia. The hosts have lost former captain Michael Clarke, Shane Watson, Brad Haddin, Mitchell Johnson and Mitchell Starc from that team which defeated India. This new-look Australian team is considered the underdogs against the experienced Indian team led by MS Dhoni.
