In an interview with “Parents Latina” magazine, the 34-year-old “Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer” actress shared how being in the showbiz industry prepared her towards becoming a successful businesswoman.
“When your initial pitch is rejected as much as mine was, the thought of giving up crosses your mind,” the woman behind The Honest Company said. “Fortunately, being an actress prepares you well for rejection.
She added that being an actress taught her one very important virtue.
“I had to be patient to get to the ‘yes,’” Jessica Alba noted. “If I believe in something, one ‘yes’ is worth a million ‘nos.’”
When asked for the best advice she can give to other mothers dreaming to run their own business as well, the “The Secret World of Alex Mack” quipped, “Don’t get overwhelmed trying to do everything at once. Lay out what you can get done now and what will take longer.”
But she claimed “mom guilt” is one of the downsides of being a mother with a career or a business. The “Camp Nowhere” star shared a special strategy to overcome this. “Don’t be hard on yourself,” Jessica Alba said. “Doing your best to be present wherever you are is what’s important.”
She also pointed out that feeling sexy is equivalent to being confident, something each mom must feel about herself. “Being sexy is about confidence,” she said. “So be proud of what you accomplish, be amazed at what your body can do, and give yourself props. When all else fails, put on a bright red lip!”
Talking about feeling sexy and looking gorgeous, Daily Mail Online reported that the award-winning actress was spotted in Los Angeles on Monday in a chic ensemble. The news site even described Jessica Alba as “super sophisticated” while wearing a peach tunic and skinny jeans and sporting a neutral make-up palette.
