Asus, along with other manufacturers, are still working on delivering the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. According to new reports, the ZenFone Zoom and ZenFone Selfie are now in line to receive the update.
ZenFone Zoom and ZenFone Selfie Android 6.0 Update
Taiwanese smartphone maker Asus promised previously that it will be updating its ZenFone lineup on the second quarter this year; but that didn’t push through. Nonetheless, the company continues to work on catching up to deadlines. In fact, there were reports saying it has started seeding out Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to devices like ZenFone Max and ZenFone Laser 2.
On top of that, two more devices will be joining Asus’ Android 6.0 Marshmallow party: ZenFone Zoom (ZX551KL) and ZenFone Selfie (ZD551KL).
According to Mobi Picker, the ZenFone Zoom will be updated via the build version 188.8.131.52 whereas the Zenfone Selfie will be updated via the build version 184.108.40.2062. Just like other Android updates, the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for ZenFone Zoom (ZX551KL) and ZenFone Selfie (ZD551KL) will come with Google Now on Tap, Doze Mode, Customizable App Permissions and other excellent features.
Likewise, people will be pleased to find out that much of the bloatware was taken out, so a number of applications like Google and Facebook are now included.
People will only need to wait for the official prompt to update their devices. If the prompt is not available yet, they could try to check their phone’s settings.
In relation to Android updates, Google has announced that the name of the next Android OS will be Android Nougat. As to when users will get the update, Express noted that Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X phones will surely be the first in line.
Other companies like Samsung, HTC and LG should start delivering the update sometime early 2017. However, users will still need to check the final schedules with their manufacturers and carriers.
