One of the photos shows Oliver standing on the roof of a cab, talking to the surrounding crowd of people. This, when coupled with the synopsis of the episode given – “Oliver teams up with a surprising force in an attempt to stop Damien Darhk and his magic once and for all” – leads us to believe that the common people of Star City might be Oliver’s secret weapon against Darhk.

While, it is astonishing to think that the brooding, playboy-turned-savior could actually ask for help from the masses, it seems like that is exactly that is going to happen. Oliver or his alter ego has failed so far in coming up with a grand plan to defeat Darhk and his supernatural powers, as long as the latter possesses the magic idol.

Moreover, team Arrow is not what it used to be once. With the Black Canary gone and Thea still reeling from the aftereffects of the drugs that Malcolm forced upon her, Oliver is lacking the strong backup that he once had. This might be the reason why Oliver finally decides to do the sensible thing and ask the people of Star City to help him take down Darhk. After all, it is their lives on the line too if Darhk manages to succeed in his plans of destroying the world.

Fueling the anticipation of the fans, Stephen Amell said in an interview with TVLine:

“The way that is set up for the finale is very much like it’s going to be about rescuing Felicity and that’s actually not at all what the episode is about. It’s less about what you gonna do versus how he’s going to approach it, like what is his state of mind.”

Ooh! Exciting times are ahead!
