Archie Comics ‘Riverdale’ TV Show Updates: Casting Wraps Up, Lead Roles Filled

Set to air on Warner Bros. TV, “Riverdale” series now has KJ Apa to play Archie, Lili Reinhart to play Betty, Camila Mendes to play Veronica. Also in the cast are Ashleigh Murray who will play the role of Josie, Cole Sprouse to play Jughead Jones, Madeline Petsh to play Cheryl Blossom, and Luke Perry to play Archie’s father, Andrews.
As reported by Deadline, the latest addition to the cast is Marisol Nichols of “Teen Wolf.” She will portray Hermione Lodge, the lavishly gorgeous “hot momma” who showers her daughter with all the money for her shopping needs. Nichols has also played lead roles in several popular television series including “Criminal Minds” and “NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service” and MTV’s “Teen Wolf.”
“Riverdale” follows the journey of Veronica, Betty, Archie, and the rest of the gang’s escapades in a small-town which despite its peaceful façade, has lurking darkness and weirdness to it.
In other news, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that production had difficulty scouting actors to play for the lead role. According to the report, it took the production team over four months to decide who gets to play Archie. As all fans know, Archie is a high-school sophomore student who, after working for a construction company over the summer, finds himself in dilemma between two gorgeous women: Betty and Veronica.
At present, CW and Warner Bros. TV has not made any official declaration on when the “Riverdale” TV Show will reach screens.
