Warner Bros’ Aquaman has fallen victim to major speculation lately. Earlier, a report alleged that DC supervillain Black Manta has been confirmed the main antagonist for the upcoming film. However, it looks like DCEU and Warner Bros have other plans.
Aquaman is currently in its scripting phase, with director James Wan and COO Geoff Johns are working together. But it looks the speculations on Black Manta and other news has been hindering their thought process.
Earlier on Monday, James Wan decided to address fans on Twitter. The director tweeted that the rumors are “exhausting,” and he isn’t able “keep up” with them as well. Wan added that it’s “counter-productive,” stressing that he “must focus, block out noise.” Check out his angry tweet below.
In an interview, Wan decided not to comment on “Black Manta” speculations but rather teased his fans. However, it looks he seemed to have been distracted by a recent rumor.
Fans have been suggesting that Michael K Williams was cast as Black Manta. Furthermore, the rumor has gained traction on the internet with no supporting evidence. Wan finally decided to debunk them with the recent tweet.
Recent updates confirmed that shooting for Aquaman will take place in Australia and in Warner Bros studio in Leavesden. The movie has been scheduled to release on July 2018.
Currently, Jason Momoa and Amber Heard are busy filming for their roles in Justice League. While plot details remain unknown, it has been revealed that the movie’s best sequence “takes place on dry land” thanks to scriptwriter Will Beall.
