Apple WWDC 2016: iPhone 7 To Be Flagship Device For iOS 10
Ahead of the unveiling of the highly anticipated iPhone 7, Apple has previewed the iOS 10 operating system. The tech firm is hailing it as the “world’s most advanced mobile operating system” that will become the company’s “biggest release ever.”Advertisement
Unlike its predecessors, iOS 10 was developed with messaging in mind. This makes sense, since Messages is one of the most frequently used app in iOS. And with the new operating system, it is promised that Messages will become “more expressive and fun,” since there are now animations that can accompany your everyday messages.
At the same time, the iOS10 offers automatic suggestions to users that will allow to readily place text messages with more expressive emoji. Meanwhile, for added privacy and more mysteriousness, users will be able to use invisible ink to send a message. This way, the message is only revealed after the receiver swipes over it.
Beyond messaging, Apple promises that iOS 10 will offer a more integrated approach when it comes to Maps and Memories. In fact, you’ll be able to get a ride from Uber and Lyft without having to leave the Maps app. Meanwhile, a Home app will allow users to control various home automation products in their home using their Apple device. That includes lights, window shades, video cameras, thermostats, and door locks.
Aside from this, Apple said that iOS 10 has allowed Siri to extend its network to major news areas. There’s also a SiriKit that developers can use to easily get Siri to work with them when it comes to photo search, ride booking, personal payments, workouts, messaging, and phone calls.
With the announcement of iOS 10 and cool new developments, it is only fair to say that the iPhone 7 will be a very convenient and high-tech phone to use. One question remains: will all these be enough to beat out the likes of Samsung?
