Apple has announced that Apple Pay is finally making its way to China. This was made possible with the tech giant’s new partnership with China UnionPay.

This only means that hundreds of millions of China UnionPay cardholders should be able to add their bank cards to Apple Pay without hassle. Moreover, they will now be able to use their iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch to do some secure and convenient shopping. Apple Senior Vice President of Internet Software and Services Eddy Cue admits that China is an “extremely important” market for Apple. And it helps that entry of its payment system in the said market is also supported from 15 of China’s leading banks.

Making payments through Apple Pay is as simple as a simple touch of a finger. When shoppers are in stores, they don’t even have to open any app or wake their phone display to make a payment. For iPhone users, they can utilize their phone’s NFC antenna design and hold the phone near POS terminals that accepts China UnionPay’s Quickpass, all while one finger is on the Touch ID. Meanwhile, using Apple Watch, customers just need to double-click the side button and hold the watch facing up to the contactless reader to purchase items.

Apple Pay works on a number of Apple gadgets and devices, including iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and Apple Watch. Meanwhile, Apple Pay can be used in the said phone models as well as iPad Air 2, iPad mini 3, iPad mini and iPad Pro when making payment within apps.
