The video footage of the incident shows John Parsley, 62, slamming his pickup truck into the lobby and front desk of the Alva Comfort Inn and Suites in Alva, Oklahoma. The incident occurred on Thursday at around 4 p.m. Two employees can be seen diving out for the safety of their lives at the last second.
Charged with two felony counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and one count of malicious injury to property valued at more than $1,000, Parsley was held on $1 million bond in the Woods County Jail.
The video of the incident, shared by Rupal Bhagat Christian on her Facebook account, can be viewed here. Christian and her husband run the hotel.
According to the Huffington Post, Parsley rammed his truck into the wall, after which he backed up a few feet and slammed the truck a second time. He then left the vehicle and walked towards the officer with raised hands. Police said that Parsley slammed his truck into the hotel because “they thought he was bluffing, and he proved he wasn’t.” The incident occurred because Parsley’s credit card was declined twice and he had to pay through cash.
According to NBC News, as per the incident report, Christian said, “Parsley stated it wasn’t his first bad experience with a hotel manager who was also Indian.” Christian added, “I hope this evidence is enough to keep him out of the streets, he is a threat and danger to my life and for community because he is not afraid of going behind bars so if he is out he can attempt to kill/murder me for the third time with any other weapon.”
