Android 6.0 Marshmallow To Debut On Huawei Nexus 6, LG Nexus 5
Android 6.0 Marshmallow will debut in Nexus devices – LG Nexus 5 and Huawei Nexus 6. Other brands like Samsung and Motorola are also looking forward to launch devices that run on this latest version of Android.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow, also known as Android M, which was announced at the Google I/O event, is said to be making its debut with LG Nexus 5 and Huawei Nexus 6 devices that are releasing this fall. The preview of this latest operating system is already available on few of the Nexus devices:
i. LG Nexus 5
ii. Asus Nexus Player, and
iii. HTC Nexus 9
Smartphones from leading brands like Motorola, LG, Sony and Samsung will also launch devices that run on Android M. Experts believe that this latest version of Android will boost the device’s battery life.
The official Android developers blog, while announcing Android M in mid-August, wrote, “Remember that when Android 6.0 Marshmallow launches to the public later this fall, you’ll need to manually re-flash your device to a factory image to continue to receive consumer OTA updates for your Nexus device.” The post also mentioned, “And… At the consumer launch this fall, the Google Play store will also be updated…”
When the devices with Android M finally comes to the market, this operating system will be introduced with lighter themes. Yes, the dark themes that were tested in the Android Marshmallow preview will be skipped from the final version as they are not considered to be eye-friendly. Users who had downloaded the first preview, upon noticing that the dark themes are no more available in the second developer preview, requested the team to bring them back. One of the members from the developer team said in response to all the requests that the theme might be introduced in the future, but not with Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Only after the operating system comes to the market will we get to know how Android M actually works and if it fulfills all the promises made by the developers.
