Do you own a Samsung Galaxy Note 4? Get ready for its Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update. Samsung has recently announced that Galaxy Note 4 owners and is now available for the download.
Samsung Note 4 owners under US Cellular carriers can get readily download the latest Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. Owners of Galaxy Note 4 from other regions, however, would need to wait for further announcement regarsing the availability of this software update.
This major update is going to update the OS to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, which is quite a great news for a two-year-old device!
According to Phone Arena Google has already launched Android 7.0 named Nougat and a number of smartphones have received this new OS. But still the Marshmallow OS holds the position of most often used OS version in the flagship mobiles these days.
Note 4 owners should enjoy the new update and there is a very simple process to get this update. Here are the steps to do so:
- Check the update by going to Settings/About Device/Software Update.
- If you are able to find the 6.0.1 Marshmallow update on the device, tap the Update button to start updating your old OS to the new upgrade
But before starting this new update make sure that your battery is at least 50 percent full and your Galaxy Note is connected to a stable Wi-Fi network. The update might take more than 15 minutes to complete.
The expected changes brought by the new update are:
- You get a better battery life which is attributed to the new Doze mode.
- You will get a better control over the App Permissions
- Redesigned App Drawer
- New stability improvements and bug fixes
