Amber Heard Johnny Depp Divorce Settlement: Actress Withdraws Pledge To Charities?

The $7 million from the Amber Heard Johnny Depp divorce settlement has not reached the charities yet. However, there is a valid reason to it.

After the couple reached the agreement, Heard announced that she would donate the $7 million from the settlement to charities. However, the current circumstances are preventing her from keeping her promise.

Amber Heard Johnny Depp Divorce Settlement Money Not Given To Charities Yet?

When Amber Heard and Johnny Depp filed for divorce she promised to donate the settlement amount to two charities. The first one is ACLU, which aims its focus particularly to stop violence against women. The second one is the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles.

However, the money hasn’t reached either of the organizations yet, The Celebrity Dirty Laundry reported. Depp has, however, paid an amount of $200,000 installment in equal shares to both the organizations.

According to sources, although Depp is willing to pay the pledged amount himself, Heard is livid that she is not getting the money directly. While Heard doesn’t want Depp to get tax deductions, the “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor doesn’t want his estranged wife to get access to the money and a chance to go back on her pledge.

Meanwhile, the Amber Heard Johnny Depp divorce settlement documents have not been signed by the actor yet.

Heard’s attorney said that the actress is not being able to fulfill her promise because Depp has not yet signed the divorce documents.

“The settlement documents are being finalized and will be signed this week,” the E! News quoted her lawyer Pierce O’Donnell. “Johnny is obligated by the settlement to pay Amber, and she in turn will honor her pledges to Children’s Hospital and the American Civil Liberties Union.”

He added, “Amber’s commitment to protecting victims of domestic violence and helping sick children is her life’s work.  Her recent PSA on domestic violence does not violate her settlement agreement with Johnny.  She will continue to lend her voice to the rising chorus of women speaking out about this terrible scourge on the American family.”

Heard decided to pull the plug on the marriage in August citing psychological and physical abuse by Depp. The Amber Heard Johnny Depp divorce made headlines earlier this year following her abuse allegations against Depp.
