Amazon To Open Fulfillment Center In Massachusetts, Creates Over 500 Jobs

Amazon.com, Inc. has unveiled plans to open a new fulfillment center in Fall River, Massachusetts. The online retail giant reveals that this will lead to the creation of more than 500 full-time positions in the said area.

Moreover, Amazon says the jobs will become eligible for a wide host of benefits from day one, including 401 (k) with a 50-percent match, health insurance, company stock awards and bonuses. At the same time, Amazon’s incoming employees will also have support of a huge network of employees that will help them succeed in their jobs. According Amazon Vice President of North America Operations Mike Roth, this will be the first time that Amazon is putting up a fulfillment center in Massachusetts and they are looking for hundreds of additional full-time associates for the upcoming facility. Furthermore, Roth also describes the state as a “great place to do business,” and he revealed that the company already employs hundreds of engineers, scientists and developers in the area.

The new fulfillment center will reportedly cover more than a million square feet and will be developed by the Trammell Crow Company. Meanwhile, Amazon fulfillment center hourly employees are entitled to up to 20 weeks of paid leave, a flexible Ramp Back Program and Leave Share Program, which lets employees share their paid leaves with their partner or spouse. At the same time, these employees are also able to enjoy maternity and paternity leave benefits.
