Amal Clooney is reportedly in talks with creative director Peter Copping of Oscar de la Renta, one of her favorite brands as well as Giambattista Valli for the role of co-consultant. But the lawyer ended up turning the offers down.
The 38-year-old barrister is known all over the world for her sense of style. But for the stylish human rights lawyer, her work as in Doughty Street Chambers is more important.
“Amal has long been obsessed with clothes, but she never considered working in the fashion industry. Since finding herself in the spotlight, she’s collaborated with designers who have created custom-made pieces, and had a very hands-on role,” said a source, speaking to Grazia.
The insider added that Amal wants to develop the working relationships further but does not want it to hamper her work.
The insider said that Amal had been approached by fashion houses to become an ambassador for their brand becoming the face of their brand. But, the brunette turned down requests from a number of fashion magazines and the like to be featured on their cover.
Amal has been criticized for her designer wardrobe and exploiting ‘the Clooney effect’ to advance her career. However, she exercises her profile in ‘an appropriate manner’.
In June, a tabloid branded her “Kim Kardashian with a law degree” and went to the extent of calling her an “attention-seeker.” Meanwhile, Amal Clooney seems to be setting the trend of dipped hemline dresses, Daily Mail reports.
After Amal was spotted in a white and pink floral dipped hem dress by Valli Couture worth 1,500 pounds, during her Italian wedding to George Clooney in September 2014, stars have followed suit and have been seen in dipped hem dresses.
