Alcatel Officially Unravels Idol 4, 4s & Plus 10 At Pre-MWC 2016 Event
Earlier we have reported how Alcatel accidentally revealed its upcoming devices that were supposed to be presented on this year’s upcoming big event for all mobile makers. IBT Times has reported that the information was displaced on the Chinese tech company’s website itself so it seems legit. It has been removed hastily but not after it was already viewed and has someone took a screenshot and shared it to anyone online who is interested. The specs of Idol 4 and 4S were exposed making it seem like it already has its launching which was supposed to be at the Mobile World Congress event.
The Register, however, has just reported its pre-MWC 2016 event, the phone company has announced the Idol 4 and 4S smartphones with its VR headset in the box. Additionally, the tech company has also announced a Windows 10 2-in-1 smartphone accompanying the already leaked to the public devices.
The new standard Idol 4 device will be having a 5.2 inch 1080p IPS LCD display with a 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution. It will be running Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 chipset and a 1.7 GHz octa core processor.
Gadgets 360 also adds that the new Idol 4 will be having a dimension of 147 x 72.5 x 7.1 mm and weighs 135 grams. It has an Adreno 405 GPU and a 3GB RAM. It comes with an internal storage of 16GB where users can get 10GB free. Its internal memory can be expanded up to 512GB through a microSD card.
It boasts of having a 13 megapixel rear shooter with touch focus and dual-LED flash. Meanwhile its front shooter is 8 megapixels that comes with a real-time face beatification and a front facing flash. It will be powered by a 2610 mAh battery which can be charged within 120 minutes through the Quick Charge version 2.0.
The launching event of the Chinese phone maker also included the Idol 4s and the Alcatel Plus 10 gadgets. The Idol 4S has a similar build and design like that of the standard Idol 4. It also runs on the same OS. However it comes with a dimension of 153.9 x 75.4 x 6.99 mm and weighs 145 grams.
Alcatel Idol 4S also has a 5.5-inch QHD Amoled display. It runs on an octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor with an Adreno 510 GPU. 4s will also have an internal storage of 32GB which is expandable up to 512GB via a microSD card and a RAM of 3GB.
The phone will be sporting a 16 megapixel rear shooter with touch focus and dual LED flash and an 8 megapixel front shooter with the same features as that of the Idol 4. It will be powered by a 3000 mAh battery that can be charged within 95 minutes through the Quick Charge 2.0.
Both Idol 4 and 4s include a Virtual Reality Content with a 300 percent reversible sound and UI. Gadgets 360 also reports that the smartphones will support 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11, Wi-Fi Direct, NFC, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, and microUSB in terms of connectivity options. 4s is said to also come with the Google VR headset. Both smartphones come in four color variants which are gold, dark grey, rose gold and metal silver.
Aside from the Idol 4 and 4s Alcatel has also launched its 10-inch IPS display with 800 x 1280 pixel resolution. The Windows 10 2-in 1 device runs on a quad core Intel processor. The phone or tablet has an internal storage of 32GB which is expandable via a microSD card.
Plus 10 comes with a detachable 4G LTE keyboard which together with the said device offers an 8410mAh battery that can last up to 8 hours of working time. The keyboard can also act as a Wi-Fi hotspot for up to 15 users. It also supports micro-USB, standard USB and micro-HDMI in terms of connectivity options.
The Register reports that although there is no specific price released, the smartphone manufacturer has already announced that the Idol series which will be available by April will have a price range of €279-€449 EUR. Meanwhile the Plus 10 device will be available by June for €379 EUR according to the recent presentation in Barcelona.
