This weekend will see the release of Russell Westbrook’s next signature lifestyle sneakers with Jordan Brand. The stylish kicks are officially called the Jordan Westbrook 0.2 “Black Sail.”
The fiery point guard will begin his first voyage as the Oklahoma City Thunder’s lone superstar next season. He needs an equally audacious pair of sneakers to wear during post-game press conferences.
According to Highsnobiety, the upper on the Jordan Westbrook 0.2 “Black Sail” is made entirely out of premium nubuck. Camo print adorns the tongue, heel collar and side panels of the high-top sneakers. The rest of the upper is in black.
Westbrook’s logo is patched on the tongue while a subtle Jumpman logo can be found on the heel area. Additional details include a “WHY” on the inner tongue of the left shoe and a “NOT?” on the inner tongue of the right shoe.
The Jordan Westbrook 0.2 “Black Sail” features a solid white rubber midsole and outsole. It sports a circular traction pattern on the forefoot, reminiscent of the iconic Air Jordan 1. The Nike trademark logo is carved on the midfoot outsole for extra branding.
Hot New Hiphop reported that Westbrook already wore the sneakers during a trip to China last month. The 6-foot-3 dynamo visited Beijing, Taipei and Hong Kong to connect with fans and gain knowledge about miniature landscaping.
The Jordan Westbrook 0.2 “Black Sail” will be available in Men’s sizes via the SNKRS app starting this Saturday, October 15. Retail price is $140.
As for Westbrook’s on-court kicks this upcoming season, he will be Jordan Brand’s main endorser for the Air Jordan 31. The performance basketball sneakers have released in multiple colorways this summer, but it has yet to be flaunted in an actual NBA game.
