The Air Jordan releases just keep on coming. Next month will mark the arrival of another Olympic-inspired colorway of the Air Jordan 5.
The Air Jordan 5 already released in Olympic Gold and Metallic Silver earlier this year. It was only a matter of time before Jordan Brand debuted a Bronze colorway of Michael Jordan’s fifth signature shoe. Now, more details have emerged regarding the aptly-named Air Jordan 5 “Bronze Medal.”
Hardys Closet reported that the glossy sneaker will release in late September. The main highlights of the Air Jordan 5 “Bronze Medal” are its Bright Grape upper and shiny Bronze tongue. Other color tints featured on the sneaker are Obsidian, White and Metallic Red.
Nike Air units can be found in the forefoot and heel areas for responsive cushioning. Meanwhile, blue translucent rubber adorns the outsole. A white molded arch is stationed at the base of the sneaker to provide the wearer with additional torsional support.
The sneaker maintains the iconic airplane design of the 1990 silhouette. The shark teeth print on the midsole is be inspired graffiti on World War 2 fighter planes.
The interior of the Air Jordan 5 “Bronze Medal” features a plush inner sleeve that doubles as pillows for the ankles and heels. Its internal heel counter prevents the foot from veering off sideways during hard cuts and quick jab stabs.
According to Weartesters, one of the best features of any Air Jordan 5 model is its ventilation. The sneaker has perforated vents located on its medial and lateral sides. There are also perforations on the tongue, ensuring maximum air flow.
The Air Jordan 5 “Bronze Medal” will release at select Jordan Brand stores in the US on Saturday, September 24. Its retail price is rumored to be $190.
