What's This?

Adele nearly gave up on music after the release of her second album. Yet, a second one surfaced which experienced the same level of success.

Feeling the pressure and dismay she felt during the songwriting process, Adele may have considered playing a role as an actress this time, especially when her music video “Hello” director, Xavier Dolan, has his eyes on her to act for his upcoming film.

As reported by Telegraph, Adele’s second album nearly lost the possibility of seeing the light of day. According to the Grammy award-winning singer/songwriter, the writing process when she wrote her first album was nearly unbearable that she considered quitting music altogether.

When she was interviewed by The New York Times prior to the launch of her third album “25,” she stated, “How I felt when I wrote ‘21’, I wouldn’t want to feel again.” She added, “It was horrible, it was miserable, I was lonely, I was sad, I was angry, I was bitter. I thought I was going to be single for the rest of my life. I thought I was never going to love again. It’s not worth it.”

Additionally, she stated, “I didn’t think I had it in me to write another record. I didn’t know if I should. Because of how successful ‘21’ was, I thought, ‘Maybe everyone’s happy with that being the last thing from me, maybe I should bow out on a high.”

After the emotional struggle, Adele took a break during 2012 when she bore son Angelo before she considered writing music once again. In fact, she even experienced a vocal hemorrhage before her break that forced her to cancel tours last 2011 and seek surgical help for her throat.

However, through the course of the exchange, Adele managed to admit that she had to write a new album again, despite the pressure she felt to creae an equally successful album after her second one. She said, “As time went on, I realized I had no choice. I have to write more music for myself, and there’s nothing else I want to do.”

In other news, Vanity Fair reported that although Adele is back in the music business, she may be considering another activity altogether, acting. Following the success of her song “Hello,” whose music video went viral online in just a short while, the video’s director, Xavier Dolan, revealed that he was impressed with Adele’s ability to act. He reportedly noticed her capability to act while they were filming “Hello” that he has considered inviting her for a role in his upcoming film “The Death and Life of John F. Donovan.”

In fact, it was revealed that she may write music for the film on top of participating as an actress in the proposed project.

From being recognized as a vocal prowess, selling 30 million records, and launching her third album “25” this coming November 20, 2015, Adele clearly does not have breaks in the world of entertainment.
